It’s opening mid-June!  But wait...road access issues — it’s rescheduled to mid-July.  Another delay...they say it’s finally opening  August 1st.  Postponed again?  Occupancy permit …what’s that?  Have I heard the rumor?...what rumor?  It’s moved to the Nantahala?  Is Nationals still happening?...”

If it’s true that “change is the only constant”, then the opening date of the U.S. National Whitewater Center was truly a constant — it was a constant variable!

Despite the suspenseful experience, when it finally did open for U.S. Nationals, the National Whitewater Center was well worth the wait.  Scott Shipley — you designed a sweet course!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well then...be prepared to view over three thousand pictures thanks to my dad!

Still officially a construction site, the course released muddy water from continuing heavy equipment activity. Rolling was challenging as it was dark down there!  What?! You don't think we’re supposed to be rolling during a national-level competition?  Well, you’ll just have to check out the photos then!
